Ekone Ranch is a quiet and beautiful place in the winter.  The sounds of children's laughter and the hustle and bustle of camp are a warm memory, and one can settle in by the wood stove to work on winter projects or maybe a good book. Stacking firewood, breaking ice on the water troughs, and clearing snow from the roofs and driveways all become part of our routine.

Eventually spring does come to the valley, and then winter is only a peaceful memory as she pulls back her veils of fog and snow to reveal birds building their nests, and the green buds on the apple trees.
