Ekone Ranch is coming to the City…and you’re invited!
Happy Hour for Happy Campers
~A Grown-Up event to support the Camp Scholarship Fund~
Wednesday, April 26, 7pm
Join us for a delicious and elegant evening, in support of Ekone’s deserving camp scholarship applicants! And please invite those in your circle who would value an introduction to Ekone Ranch…without having to drive to Goldendale.
In the spirit of sacred economics…this event is based on reciprocal generosity. Attendance is free, we will roll out the red carpet for you and yours, do our best to inspire you, and humbly ask for your generous support of our deserving campers, at whatever level you are inspired and able to give!
In 2016, we were able to award over $22,000 in scholarship support to nearly ¼ of our campers. We believe that Ekone Magic should be available to all children, regardless of their economic position. And we need your help to make this possible again for the coming summer.
In the words of a summer camp mom: “We had the fortune of receiving aid for Anika’s camp time last year. It was one of the best experiences she ever had. She made friends, LOVED the horses and learned so much about her own interior life and emotions.”
There’s more of that kind of soul-food below.
All that said…we’d be honored by your presence at our only off-ranch fundraiser. It’s going to be fun!
~ Hors d’oeuvres by famous Yummy Tummy Café Catering
~ Beer, wine, a special ranchy cocktail (the Lemender Whiskleberry Twist), fresh lemonade, and genuine Ekone water
~ Dessert auction
~ Most excellent company, including board and staff of Sacred Earth Foundation
This is an adult event, even though we love kids…let us know if you’d like a babysitter recommendation. Date night!
Attire is Ranch Formal (like Fridays at camp). That means showers are required, break out your clean clothes if you have any left, kick the mud off your boots, and dig into the dress-up box for something sparkly if you’re inspired. Our staff will be in their going-to-town best.
Please RSVP Here to help us plan (but surprising us at the door is also totally allowed if you decide last-minute).
A thousand thanks to you for your support of Ekone Ranch and our campers!
P.S. If you can’t attend the event but still want to contribute, donations are gratefully accepted right here, or by old fashioned check-in-the-mail to 401 Ekone Rd, Goldendale, WA 98620.
A Few Words from Scholarship Families
“Emma’s Ekone experience last summer [at the Passage for Girls program] was utterly transformative for her (the city girl) and she is really interested in returning. I saw her immersion in nature for the first time really – and it was a beautiful sight to behold – she deeply needs more outdoor experiences like this.”
“When I went to pick Aluxus up from camp she was the excited sweet girl I had lost through my divorce and life struggles. She was so bright eyed, you could tell that not only did the camp, horses and staff make her feel whole again…she had built back a new self confidence that no one could take away from her. She also was so active and eating good healthy meals that it helped kick start her weight loss from her thyroid condition. I thank all the people that are able to donate to the camp for helping bring a smile back to my baby girl’s face because without the scholarship fund, this would not have been possible!”
“We are so grateful that Finn was able to attend Ekone with the help of a scholarship. I am thrilled that he had a chance to live, for a short time, closer to nature, free from constraints of our busy, modern lives, and with caring, responsible adults who gave him a lot of freedom to explore and relax. He seemed years older when I came to pick him up. Summer camp is a transformative experience, and Ekone especially provides a place to connect with others, with one’s self, and with nature in a way that is hard to find in our crazy world.”
“The confidence Annabel gained during that week at Ekone has really been long-lasting…I wouldn’t have anticipated what a shift it helped her to make back here at home.” In Annabel’s words: “My favorite horse was Sunny, he seemed to like me. He always listened to me right away. It was like we were…connected. I also liked the cooking–she made the best things ever. And she didn’t have, like frozen stuff. She had to make it all from scratch! Even the chores were fun. We all put in work to help the horses.”
“My experience as a mom to three boys and having my oldest attend camp at Ekone was purely magical…I felt so incredibly overcome by joy when I came to pick up Caj. He was so calm and clear, happy and content.”
Thank YOU for helping make Ekone Magic possible for so many children this summer!
