Sundance Kid
Age: 20
Gender: Gelding
Height: 15.2
Breed: QH/Arab
Color: chestnut
Price: $500
Here’s the perfect super-solid horse for pleasure, trails, 4H, etc! Sundance is a sweet, personable gelding who loves attention and is very athletic despite his age. We’ve been using him at our summer camp and he does great on the trail with the kids. We love him because he is solid and unflappable (traits necessary for a summer camp horse!) and the kids love him because he’s so sweet and very attentive to cues. Sundance walks, trots and lopes easily and calmly with even an inexperienced rider, and yields well to leg aids, seat, and light rein pressure. He does great on the trail, with no trace of spookiness or acting up.
Sundance bathes, ties, loads, stands for the farrier, and is well used to kids, dogs, cars, machinery, etc. His does need some extra grain in addition to grass hay to keep weight on, but we’ve never had any trouble with soundness, and he hasn’t needed any other extra supplements.
Sundance has been a great horse for us and we’re only selling him because we’re downsizing our summer camp and don’t need as many horses. He would make a great 4H horse, and we’re looking to find him a good home. Please note that he does best with riders 100 lbs or less.
Age: 10
Gender: Mare
Heigh: 15.3
Breed: Appaloosa/QH/Arab
Color: Black
Price: $800
Raven has been well-started and is ready to be finished whichever way you want her to. She’s a stunning tall black mare with a lot of presence, a nice light head, and good movement. She’s been ridden mostly on the trail, including a 3-week trip to North Dakota and back, and also had 60 days training at a reining barn last year.
Raven has been ridden over all kinds of terrain—up and down steep grades, through gullies and water, over rocky and rough ground, and through brush—and is used to kids, dogs, cars, machinery, etc. Raven ties, loads, bathes, and stands for the farrier. She’s always gone barefoot and hasn’t ever had any problem with soundness or injury. She’s a super easy-keeper who can get fat on grass hay and is used to being outdoors year round.
She’s very brave and smart, and at this point could go in most any direction, although she is not ready for a novice or child rider. We just have a few too many horses and don’t have the time to give this gorgeous and personable horse the attention and training she deserves.
Gracie
Age: 2
Gender: Mare
Height: currently 13.3h, will mature at 15+
Breed: Appaloosa
Color: palomino with white speckled rump
Price: $400
Gracie is a very sweet, gentle filly with a real eagerness to please. So far we’ve done basic ground training; longing in the round pen, leading, yielding front and hind quarters, and picking up feet. She’s done great and is ready for you to take him to the next level. Gracie loves people and attention, and will mature into a delicately built mare perfect for trails, pleasure, or showing. She is an extremely pretty filly with a fine face and stunning, unique color—palomino with a white speckled rump and a tri-colored mane and tail—and would be an awesome prospect for the show ring.
Gracie is an extremely easy keeper: goes barefoot, gets fat on grass hay, and is used to living outdoors. She’s a blank slate, and hasn’t had any traumatizing or damaging experiences to sour her on working with people. She’ll make an awesome horse for the person with the time to put a little training on her. We just have a few too many horses and don’t have the time to give her the attention and training she deserves.
